7 News in Washington, DC has an immediate opening for a Weekend Newscast Producer. This is a great way to get a foot in the door and hone your producing skills in a shop where expectations are high and producers are editorial leaders tasked with building compelling, distinctive, viewer-focused shows.

The Successful Candidate:

+ Multi-platform news consumer, well-versed in major storylines of the day.

+ Solid news judgment.

+ Writes impactful, concise scripts quickly.

+ Communicates clearly with colleagues and talent on the set.

+ Able to manage time and meet show deadlines

+ Responds positively to feedback and makes adjustments as required.

+ Flexible in responding to late updates and breaking news

+ Able to troubleshoot effectively and calmly in the booth.

+ Understands news is a 24-7 business and may require nights, weekends and holidays.

Requirements:

+ Minimum 3 years news producing experience at a commercial TV station

+ Bachelor's Degree in Journalism or similar preferred.

+ Familiarity with iNews, Xpression, Tagboard and Avid a plus.
