Job Description
Title: GovCon Proposal Pricing Analyst Location: Colorado Springs, CO (HQ) Reports to: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Role Overview
The Proposal Pricing Analyst develops compliant, competitive cost and price proposals for U.S. Government and commercial solicitations. This role ensures adherence to FAR, DFARS, CAS, and company policies while supporting strategic pricing initiatives for aerospace, defense, government, and commercial programs. Analysts collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver accurate, timely pricing that balances competitiveness and profitability.
Key Responsibilities
• Prepare detailed cost/price models for competitive and sole-source bids, including FFP, T&M, IDIQ, and commercial contracts.
• Review RFPs for compliance and develop pricing strategies aligned with technical and management volumes.
• Research historical data, vendor quotes, and market trends to build cost estimates for labor, materials, and ODCs.
• Apply parametric estimating and cost relationships for complex proposals.
• Ensure pricing meets FAR/DFARS, Truth in Negotiations Act (TINA), and CAS requirements when required.
• Support audits, fact-finding, and negotiations.
• Coordinate with Contracts, Operations, Supply Chain, and Program Management to validate assumptions and integrate inputs.
• Participate in internal pricing reviews and color team sessions.
• Develop cost narratives, pricing volumes, and BOEs; maintain compliance matrices and pricing tools.
• Prepare briefing materials for management and customer negotiations.
Required Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business, Economics, or related field.
• 3–7+ years of pricing, cost estimating, or financial analysis experience in government contracting.
• Strong knowledge of FAR, DFARS, CAS, and government proposal processes.
• Advanced Excel skills (complex formulas, pivot tables, modeling) and familiarity with pricing tools (e.g., ProPricer).
• Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
• Experience with collective bargaining agreements is a plus.
Preferred Qualifications
• Experience with cost realism analysis, competitive analysis, and negotiation support.
• Familiarity with aerospace/defense programs and risk assessment for high-visibility proposals.
• Ability to obtain security clearance.
