    Job Title: Direct Support Professional

    **Location:** Richmond, VA

    **Schedule:** Full-Time

     

    Overview

     

    We are seeking a compassionate, dependable, and dedicated **Direct Support Professional (DSP)** to join our team in Richmond, VA. In this role, you will support individuals with intellectual disabilities in living meaningful, independent, and fulfilling lives. The ideal candidate is patient, supportive, and committed to providing respectful, person-centered care that promotes dignity and choice.

    Key Responsibilities

    + Provide daily support with personal care needs, meal preparation, and routine living tasks

    + Encourage independence through skill building, coaching, and positive reinforcement

    + Assist individuals in accessing community activities, appointments, and social outings

    + Maintain a safe, clean, and supportive environment

    + Support individuals with medication reminders and required documentation

    + Complete accurate and timely progress notes, reports, and communication logs

    + Collaborate with families, team members, and supervisors to ensure high-quality care

    + Uphold person-centered principles in every interaction

    Qualifications

    + At least **1 year of personal or professional experience** supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities

    + Compassionate, patient, and dedicated to helping others

    + Strong communication and teamwork skills

    + Ability to lift, assist, and support individuals as needed

    + Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation

    + Ability to pass background checks and required screenings

    Preferred Skills

    + Experience working in group homes, day programs, residential care, or community-based support

    + Basic understanding of person-centered planning

    + CPR and First Aid certification

    **Pay Details:** $19.00 per hour
