    Material Handler- Heavy Forklift

    Job Description

    Seeking a dedicated material handler to operate a large forklift, tasked with moving materials from rail cars in the yard into the shop. The yard features an inactive railcar line from a former setup. The role involves loading and unloading materials from trucks and moving them throughout the facility. The materials handled, such as large shell plates, pipes, I-beams, and flat bars, are notably heavy. Additionally, the role includes performing shipping and receiving tasks, documentation, and stenciling materials once unloaded.

    Responsibilities

    + Operate a large forklift to move materials from rail cars to the shop.

    + Load and unload materials from trucks.

    + Transport heavy materials such as shell plates, pipes, I-beams, and flat bars within the facility.

    + Perform shipping and receiving duties and maintain accurate documentation.

    + Stencil materials upon unloading.

    Essential Skills

    + 5+ years of experience as a material handler.

    + Proven experience handling large, long, and heavy materials.

    + Expertise in operating large forklifts (such as Big Red or Hyster models).

    + Experience with overhead cranes.

    ***Must have good job tenure, provide a resume, Shop Work, No Field Experience this is a full time position in a production shop***

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX 77040.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $21.00/hr.
