    Job Title: Quality Technician** **Job Description

     

    We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Quality Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will perform thorough inspections and audits to ensure the highest quality standards for our components and subassemblies. This role requires proficiency in state-of-the-art test equipment and a commitment to maintaining compliance with customer requirements, company standards, and legal regulations.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform First Article and Incoming Inspection of purchased components and subassemblies.

    + Learn and become proficient in the use of state-of-the-art test equipment.

    + Conduct in-process inspection audits and final product conformance approvals.

    + Maintain inspection and test data, ensuring compliance with customer requirements and company standards.

    + Report results and deviations to teams, including suppliers, peers, and management.

    + Collaborate with Engineering, Master Data, and Global teams to support Manufacturing with inspection results.

    + Monitor and address Missing Parts submissions from the Install Team; implement Root Cause Corrective Actions.

    + Lead Material Review Board and maintain Quarantine inventory; determine disposition for nonconforming materials.

    + Assist the Procurement Team with Supplier selection and Supplier Quality evaluation.

    + Submit, track, and assist in processing internal Corrective And Preventative Actions.

    + Create and maintain quality documentation such as SOPs, work instructions, and SPC charts.

    + Coordinate calibration of measuring equipment, both internal and external.

    + Assist the Quality Manager in maintaining and improving the Quality Management System and support ISO 9001:2015 audits.

    + Identify areas for Continuous Improvement in Quality and develop improvement plans.

    Essential Skills

    + Minimum 1 year of quality inspection experience in a machine shop or manufacturing environment.

    + Knowledge of precision measurement methods and experience using precision measuring instruments.

    + Ability to interpret models, prints, drawings, and specifications; basic GD&T knowledge.

    + Proficient math skills, including trigonometry.

    + Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

    + High attention to detail and ownership mentality.

    + Ability to collect, analyze, and interpret data.

    + Knowledge of Quality Management Systems and ISO 9001:2015.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + A.S. or higher in a related field.

    + Experience with statistical process control (SPC).

    + Knowledge of Lean Six Sigma and Continuous Improvement methodology.

    + Experience with complex, multi-level BOMs.

    + Exposure to Electrical, Software, and Automation.

    + Experience with metal fabrication (laser cutting, bending, welding, finishing, and assembly).

    + Understanding of high-power fiber laser technology.

    + Knowledge of materials, including types of metals and manufacturing techniques.

    + SAP or other ERP system knowledge.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hoffman Estates, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
