The Idaho Department of Water Resources (IDWR) has an exciting opportunity for a professional who wants to impact Idaho water issues.
IDWR is filling a Technical Records Specialist 1 position at our Southern Region Office in Twin Falls. Twin Falls is a regional commercial center with a vibrant downtown area and has access to public lands and numerous outdoor recreational opportunities.
The person in this position will perform clerical, administrative, and records support tasks for Southern Region staff in multiple programs such as water rights, groundwater protection, water distribution, stream channel protection, and general customer service. Primarily this candidate will maintain and manage files and records in multiple programs, review and process documents, perform data entry, compose correspondence, provide front desk customer service support, and receipt payments.
Example of Duties
+ Act as liaison between Southern Region, other IDWR work units, and external customers
+ Scan, save, & file current documents; maintain and arrange for storage of historical files and documents; respond to information requests and research digital, paper, and microfiche records
+ Answer phones, greet customers, respond to customer inquiries, and research and answer customer questions regarding IDWR programs. Communicate with customers via phone, email, and written correspondence
+ Proofread, edit, and compose correspondence and other written materials, ensuring all correspondence meets current grammar and style guidelines
+ Assist with main front desk coverage by answering phones & assisting walk-in customers
+ Perform general office and clerical support services for regional staff, accept and receipt payments, and maintain office equipment
Minimum Qualifications
+ Experience monitoring a records system to identify and correct errors
+ Experience researching a variety of sources to resolve problems
+ Experience interpreting, explaining, and applying rules, regulations, laws, or complex policies to carry out assignments
+ Experience entering and retrieving data using a computerized records system
Desired Qualifications
+ Must possess a valid driver’s license
+ Experience using MS Office spreadsheet software; storing, retrieving, and compiling information in a report format using database software
+ Experience using MS Office word processing software to create and modify documents
• Experience or education in technical, business, or legal writing
• Ability to manage and organize multiple priorities
• Familiarity with USPS address formatting and mailing standards
