The Idaho Department of Parks and Recreation is pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for the position of Assistant Park Manager at Eagle Island State Park.

Eagle Island State Park, located just west of Boise in the heart of the Treasure Valley, offers an exciting opportunity for a motivated and organized professional to serve as Assistant Park Manager. Known for its expansive day-use facilities, water features, and open spaces, the park has recently expanded its offerings with the addition of a new campground, marking a significant step in its growth.

In this role, you will work closely with the Park Manager to oversee the park’s daily operations with a strong emphasis on administrative coordination and office management. As Eagle Island transitions from a primarily day-use park to one that now includes overnight stays, this position will play a key role in supporting that evolution through both operational leadership and efficient administrative practices.

You will be responsible for supervising and supporting a team of permanent and seasonal staff, assisting with training, scheduling, and promoting a culture of professionalism and customer service. A central part of this position involves office-based duties such as managing records, supporting reservation systems, coordinating with vendors, processing purchases, and assisting with budget tracking. Your ability to maintain organized systems and streamline communication will help ensure the park operates smoothly and effectively.

Beyond administrative work, you will also assist in overseeing facility maintenance, groundskeeping, and the upkeep of both day-use and campground areas. The ability to balance field coordination with behind-the-scenes support is essential to meet the needs of both the park staff and the public.

This position also involves working collaboratively with local partners, contractors, and the surrounding community. Professionalism, strong communication skills, and a proactive approach to problem-solving will be important in maintaining strong working relationships and supporting the park’s continued success.

This is a valuable opportunity to step into a leadership role at a well-loved and evolving state park.

As Assistant Park Manager, you will help guide daily operations while contributing to the long-term vision of one of the Treasure Valley’s most accessible and active outdoor spaces.
