JOB SUMMARY The Unit is a General Medical/Surgical unit with a variety of patient conditions/diagnoses, including but not limited to COPD, pneumonia, diabetes, cellulitis, acute and chronic kidney disease, etc. Nurses are trained to care for the hospital peritoneal dialysis (PD) population. 3 General Medicine is also the back-up for surgical overflow for abdominal, genitourinary, wound debridement, and other general surgeries.

JOB QUALIFICATIONS Education/Training/Experience: REQUIRED:

+ High School Diploma or Equivalent

+ Good verbal communication skills

+ C.N.A

+ OR be of at least 16 years of age with an active C.N.A. certification.

+ CNA certification in good standing on the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Healthcare Worker Registry

+ PCA or SNA- Must have completed one of the following:

+ Patient Care Experience

+ Completed a C.N.A. Program

+ Completed at least sophomore year of a nursing program (SNA)

License/Certifications/Special Requirements:

+ CNA certification in good standing on the Illinois Department of Public Health (IDPH) Healthcare Worker Registry (N/A for PCA or SNA)
