    Job Title: Mechanical Project ManagerJob Description

     

    The Mechanical Project Manager will oversee the pre-construction, planning, and scheduling of mechanical projects, ensuring efficient resource allocation and adherence to budgetary limitations. This role requires negotiating subcontractor contracts, managing project finances, and ensuring overall project profitability. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills and in-depth knowledge of construction procedures, material, and project management principles.

    Responsibilities

    + Manage the pre-construction, preplanning, and construction project scheduling process.

    + Review and approve project budgets, including labor, material, and subcontractors.

    + Negotiate and create subcontractor contracts with external vendors.

    + Manage project finances, including profitability and cash flow.

    + Oversee design conflict resolution with engineers and architects.

    + Lead strategic planning and project submittal, request for information, and change order processes.

    + Implement monthly cost reports and accurate cost projections.

    + Research and suggest options on construction means, methods, and timelines.

    + Recognize and implement change orders as necessary.

    + Approve payment supplier and subcontractor invoices.

    + Ensure adherence to health and safety standards.

    + Maintain a safe and clean working environment by enforcing procedures, rules, and regulations.

    Essential Skills

    + 5-10 years of experience working on large-scale mechanical projects.

    + Proficiency in construction management, project management, mechanical engineering, and HVAC systems.

    + Experience with project scheduling and management software such as Procore, Primavera P6, and Bluebeam.

    + Strong leadership skills and mechanical aptitude.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or Construction Management is a plus.

    + Experience in CAD, fabrication, and field labor resource management.

    + Strong customer service, communication, and problem-solving skills.

    + Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high-paced environment.

    Work Environment

    The role will be based on-site in a job trailer with a team, working Monday to Friday for 10-hour days, with occasional weekends required depending on project needs. During project downtime, the focus will be on building relationships and business development activities. The work involves environmentally sensitive facilities like data centers, healthcare environments, advanced manufacturing, and laboratories. A vehicle allowance and per diem are provided for traveling.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Covington, GA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $72.00/hr.
