    An award-winning architecture and engineering firm is seeking a junior-level Civil Engineer to join their Waterford office. The role involves performing engineering, construction, and design assignments on various municipal projects in Metro Detroit, contributing to the firm's high standards of quality and client satisfaction.

    Responsibilities

    + Perform engineering, construction, and design assignments on municipal projects.

    + Document and report all construction project activities.

    + Conduct analyses and design required for projects.

    + Prepare sketches and diagrams for field technicians and review drawings and layouts.

    + Assist in preparing contract specifications and construction cost estimates.

    + Conduct daily plan reviews and participate in grant permitting processes.

    + Review subcontractor shop drawing submittals.

    + Assist in transportation engineering within municipal project sector.

    Essential Skills

    + Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.

    + 3-10 years of civil engineering experience working on municipal projects.

    + Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Microstation, and/or Civil 3D).

    + Experience in municipal plan review.

    + Experience in grant permitting.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + EIT or PE certification.

    + GIS experience.

    Work Environment

    The work environment is collaborative, with a strong culture encouraging teamwork and celebrations among the small office. The role primarily requires working onsite at the City of Pontiac, with some flexibility to work from the Waterford office or remotely one to two days per week. Office hours are from 8am to 5pm, fostering a welcoming culture with strong benefits and opportunities for overtime.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Waterford, MI.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $50.00/hr.
