Construction Project Accountant

Are you an experienced accounting professional looking to make an impact in the construction industry? Our client is seeking a detail-oriented Project Accountant to join their Construction Division. This pivotal role ensures accurate financial management and reporting across multiple construction projects and will work closely with our project teams to drive efficiency and transparency.

Key Responsibilities:

+ Prepare monthly job cost billings for projects.

+ Review and verify the accuracy of job cost invoices and ensure timely input/coding for optimal billing outcomes.

+ Coordinate with the Site Division to ensure internal contracts, employee hours, and machine run times are billed accurately and on schedule.

+ Collaborate closely with Project Managers to analyze and record job change orders, savings, and overages for monthly management review.

+ Identify and communicate job cost variances to management, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.

+ Prepare monthly cost and debt analysis reports for management.

+ Maintain the Accounts Receivable Aging Schedule, assist in collections, and provide monthly reporting.

+ Oversee the job closeout process and ensure all cost categories are reconciled.

Requirements

Qualifications:

+ Associate’s Degree in Accounting required; Bachelor’s Degree preferred.

+ 3+ years of hands-on job costing experience in the construction industry.

+ Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Office.

+ Experience with AIA format construction billing required.

+ Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize across multiple projects.
