    Job Summary

    The Distribution Supervisor will mentor and guide the EDC distribution team, leveraging Carolina Handling's resources to achieve high levels of customer satisfaction. You will ensure the team's productivity and profitability by coordinating daily operations, addressing customer needs, and implementing changes for continuous improvement. Your focus will be on maintaining service excellence while staging shipments and managing inventory effectively.

    Responsibilities

    • Team Leadership & Productivity

    • Guide and manage a group of dock associates, senior dock associates, and team leads to support customers, actively pursue customer satisfaction, and measure performance.

    • Ensure team performance as a unit for maximum productivity and profitability.

    • Coordinate efforts of the team to address daily, weekly, and monthly issues impacting customer service and profitability.

    • Provide daily operational oversight, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and on time.

    • Work closely with the Equipment Distribution Manager and EDC Team Leaders to meet department and company goals.

    • Continuously develop personal communication, supervision, and leadership skills through self-study and seminars.

    • Customer Focus & Service Excellence

    • Maintain a direct focus on the daily needs of internal and external customers.

    • Consistently strive to ensure a level of service that exceeds customer expectations.

    • Facilitate the implementation of changes to improve customer service and operational efficiency.

    • Operations & Logistics

    • Stage all items in the correct inbound staging areas, ensuring that no spaces are occupied until properly tagged.

    • Keep new equipment "shop" outbound cleared throughout the day.

    • Stage next day's shipments in the outbound racks to ensure smooth operations.

    • Perform any other duties as assigned or required to support the company's overall operations and objectives.

    Requirements

    All potential hires are subject to pre-employment checks which include but are not limited to background checks, drug screenings, and motor vehicle record checks.

     

    • High school diploma or equivalent minimum.

    • A minimum of 3 years of experience, including at least 2 years in a leadership role.

    • Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening abilities.

    • Exceptional organizational and time management skills.

    • Must exhibit detail orientation and the ability to juggle priorities.

    • Ability to interact effectively with team members to develop strong working relationships.

    • Basic mechanical understanding.

    • Strong mental ability to maintain a calm demeanor under pressure or stress.

    Physical Requirements & Working Conditions

     

    The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of this job unless it causes undue hardship.

     

    This position is classified as sedentary work, which requires the ability to remain stationary for extended periods while occasionally moving within the office to complete tasks. Physical demands include the ability to frequently lift and/or move objects weighing up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds. Manual dexterity is necessary for computer operation, writing, and handling materials. Clear articulation and voice control are essential for effective communication with both internal and external customers via telephone. Specific vision abilities essential for this role include close vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

     

    While the role involves regular interaction with internal and external customers in a dynamic office environment, occasional exposure to shop environments and associated hazards may occur. The individual must effectively manage tight deadlines, shifting priorities, and a high volume of information flow while maintaining professionalism. Additionally, handling sensitive and confidential information is part of the job. Standard office equipment such as laptops and smartphones are regularly utilized, and noise levels typically range from low to moderate.

     

    Travel Requirements: Occasional travel to other offices may be required.
