    The Pricing & Commercial Intelligence Specialist provides data-driven insights that inform pricing strategy and commercial decision-making. This role analyzes internal performance, customer behavior, and market competitiveness to identify where PCS is winning or losing on price, enabling commercial teams to make informed, profitable decisions.

     

    This role reports to the Sr. Manager, Product Management, and is based in Morrisville, NC. The position requires approximately 10-20% travel. You will support the commercial team by providing training, pricing strategy, price execution, and opportunity quoting.

    Key Responsibilities

    Pricing Performance Analysis:

    + Monitor price realization, margin trends, and discount patterns.

    + Identify revenue or margin leakage and recommend corrective actions.

    + Conduct win/loss analysis to understand pricing impacts.

    Market & Competitive Intelligence:

    + Analyze competitor pricing, market benchmarks, and customer price sensitivities.

    + Develop insights on market positioning and relative pricing strength.

    + Build pricing frameworks aligned with market realities and customer value.

    Pricing Strategy Support:

    + Define annual pricing strategies and updates.

    + Model pricing scenarios and margin implications.

    + Develop pricing playbooks and commercial mentorship.

    Commercial Intelligence & Reporting:

    + Build dashboards and reports translating pricing data into insights.

    + Provide periodic pricing intelligence summaries.

    + Support quarterly business reviews with pricing insights.

    Cross-Functional Collaboration:

    + Align pricing actions with business goals.

    + Support sales teams with negotiation insights and competitive positioning.

    + Maintain reliable pricing and competitive datasets.

    Continuous Improvement & Governance:

    + Establish data integrity standards for pricing inputs and reporting.

    + Automate and streamline pricing intelligence workflows.

    + Measure the impact of pricing decisions on revenue, margin, and growth.

    Requirements

    + Bachelor’s degree in business, finance, marketing, or related field with 3+ years of experience in pricing, product management, marketing, sales, or finance

    + Strong analytical skills with proficiency in Excel, Power BI, SFDC, SQL, Python, JMP, and/or other business intelligence tools; experience with financial modeling preferred.

    + Ability to analyze supplier costs, market trends, and competitive dynamics to inform pricing strategies.

    + Skilled in driving pricing initiatives and making sound business decisions.

    + Excellent ability to partner across teams within a matrixed, global organization.

    + Outstanding communication and relationship-building skills.

    + Highly organized, self-directed professional with strong project management skills.
