Onsite | San Diego, CA

Our medical device client is seeking a hands-on IT Lab Specialist who thrives in technical environments and enjoys solving complex challenges. In this role, you’ll manage lab operations, set up hardware/software systems, and work closely with IT and engineering teams to keep everything running seamlessly.

_Due to client requirement, applicants must be willing and able to work on a w2 basis. For our w2 consultants, we offer a great benefits package that includes Medical, Dental, and Vision benefits, 401k with company matching, and life insurance._

Rate: $45 - $50 / hr. w2

Responsibilities:

+ Be the go-to person for lab maintenance and support.

+ Configure Mac and PC systems with standardized images and security patches.

+ Work with IT to ensure seamless network connectivity.

+ Assemble racks, servers, and update hardware for validation.

+ Build and manage virtual machines to scale test infrastructure.

+ Procure and track test equipment and inventory.

+ Install automation tools for monitoring and data collection.

+ Document lab layout, processes, and device info for easy access.

+ Ensure compliance with safety regulations and protocols.

Desired Skills:

+ Lab Management experience.

+ Scripting skills (Python or Shell).

+ Strong debugging and troubleshooting abilities.

Nice-to-Have Skills:

+ QA automation experience.

+ Development background.

+ Leadership and process standardization.

Experience Requirements:

+ Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or related field.

+ 3–5 years in lab management or IT infrastructure support

+ Familiarity with virtualization and automation tools.

+ Certifications like CompTIA A+, Network+, Python, or VMware are a plus.

_Skills, experience, and other compensable factors will be considered when determining pay rate. The pay range provided in this posting reflects a W2 hourly rate; other employment options may be available that may result in pay outside of the provided range._
