Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
Responsibilities:
The ideal candidate is expected to maintain high scholarly productivity in research, consistent with the University’s R1 status, related to Elementary Education. The candidate is also expected to seek external funds to support research activities, teach undergraduate and/or graduate courses (face-to-face, online, and/or hybrid), collaborate with community partners on education initiatives, and provide service to the University and their profession. Minimum Experience / Education:
UNC Charlotte gives primary consideration to the earned doctorate or terminal degree in the teaching discipline or a related discipline.
Preferred Education Skills and Experience:
Required Qualifications:
+ Earned Ph.D. or Ed.D. (or earned doctorate by the employment start date) in Elementary Education or closely related field from an accredited university (required for appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor).
+ Demonstrated knowledge of current issues in urban elementary education, including instructional design and assessment, instructional differentiation and leadership skills for 21st century learners (critical thinking, creativity, effective communication, and digital savviness).
+ Demonstrated successful teaching experience in K-6, or related settings (2-years minimum).
+ Evidence of efficacy in teaching (face-to-face and online).
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Grant-writing experience.
+ Strong commitment to teach, advise, and mentor students at the undergraduate and graduate levels.
+ Experience in collaborative community partnerships across disciplines within or beyond a college of education.
+ Strong commitment to the mission of the University, College, and Department.
