The Department of Ophthalmology has an open position for senior academic services professional, Education Coordinator. This full-time, University Staff (non-classified) position is responsible for high-level administrative support in the Department of Ophthalmology. Responsibilities for this position include providing high level administrative support for clinical faculty and clinical programs on a variety of tasks including, but not limited to, oversight of fellowship programs, supporting the residency program and other education team initiatives. The individual in this position will work both independently and in collaboration with faculty and program leadership. Specific priorities and duties of this position may change as the operational structure and administrative needs evolve. In addition, this position will provide cross coverage for other administrative staff positions as needed. This role is ideal for someone who has spent a few years working in a clinical and/or academic medicine environment and is interested in learning the administrative side of healthcare. Maintain compliance with accrediting body standards (AUPO FCC).Prepare and update fellowship program information for applicants.Organize interview days, including itineraries and logistics.Prepare onboarding materials and ensure fellows have access to necessary systems.Develop and maintain clinic, OR, and conference schedules for fellows in collaboration with the fellowship director.Track compliance requirements such as case logs, evaluations, and surveys.Manage travel arrangements and reimbursements for conferences.Provide administrative back-up support for other office personnel and participate in shared duties of support staff. Process and support faculty recredentialing.Assists faculty with any administrative tasks that are requested, including calendaring, correspondence, and program representation.
- this role is eligible for a hybrid schedule of 3 days per week on campus and as needed for in-person meetings.

Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and 2 years of professional experience in academic healthcare supporting department initiatives. Substitution: A combination of education and related technical/military/paraprofessional experience may be substituted for a bachelor's degree on a year for year basis. Three (3) or more years of experience managing day-to-day administrative operations within an academic team.Experience providing administrative and technical assistance to faculty and staff.Experience coordinating travel and related purchasing and expense reimbursements.Experience working in a healthcare or academic setting.Experience working with UCD software such as Marketplace and Concur. Ability to communicate effectively, both in writing and orally.Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees at all levels throughout the institution.Outstanding customer service skills.

The starting salary range (or hiring range) for this position has been established as $52,961- $67,367.The above salary range (or hiring range) represents the University's good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of possible compensation at the time of posting.
