Description:
Delivery of supplies to and from Surgery Inventory Control and maintenance of established inventory levels.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
• Delivers supplies in a timely manner to requesting area.
• Orders needed supplies from SPD.
• Checks in supplies as they arrive from SPD, warehouse or external vendors.
• Checks outdates monthly.
• Checks, wands and resupplies specialty carts, drawers and bins making sure appropriate charges are documented.
• Checks suture bins and credit bins making sure appropriate charges/credits are documented.
• Accurately documents the chargeable items pulled for each preference card.
• Prints item tickets (labels) as necessary.
• Reconciles inventory quantities with computer report.
MARGINAL FUNCTIONS:
• Works dispatch desk as assigned.
• Maintains carts, drawers, bins and shelves in a clean, orderly fashion.
• Keeps receiving area cleaned out on a daily basis.
• Participates in orientation of new employees.
• Supports and participates in departmental Performance Improvement projects.
• Attends department meetings and inservices as appropriate.
• Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.
MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
• High school diploma or GED required.
• Computer experience required.
• Previous hospital supply/inventory control experience preferred.
• Ability to read and follow written instructions.
• Ability to read, write and speak English language.
• Basic Life Support certified within six (6) weeks of hire. Acceptable credentialing bodies and certifications include American Heart Association Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers.
• Proof of completion of Mandatory Reporter abuse training specific to population served within three (3) months of hire
