    Surgery Scheduler

     

    Part - time (2) 10-hour shifts

    Position Summary:

    Join our surgical services team to ensure seamless coordination of procedures and exceptional patient care. As a Surgery Scheduler, you will manage surgical schedules, verify documentation, and collaborate with physicians and clinical teams to support safe, efficient operations.

    Highlights:

    + Coordinate surgical schedules across multiple departments

    + Partner with physicians, clinical staff, and ancillary teams

    + Work in a fast-paced, mission-driven hospital setting

    What You Will Do:

    + Maintain accurate surgery schedules and monitor for errors

    + Communicate with physician offices to align surgeon availability

    + Verify orders for completeness and medical necessity

    + Coordinate staffing, equipment, and supply needs for scheduled procedures

    + Ensure compliance with Medicare, ABN, CPT coding, and insurance requirements

    + Collaborate with departments such as Surgery, Cath Lab, Infusion Center, and Pre-Surgical Testing

    + Provide exceptional customer service and maintain confidentiality

    What You Will Need:

    + High school diploma or equivalent required

    + Minimum 2 years of experience in medical scheduling or related field

    + Strong knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, and surgical procedures

    + Familiarity with insurance authorization and pre-certification processes

    + Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to prioritize in a fast-paced environment

    + Proficiency with computer systems and scheduling software

    Preferred Qualifications:

    + Experience in a physician office or hospital setting

    + Knowledge of third-party payor policies and CMS guidelines
