    Position Summary:

    The Associate Director of Student Aid is responsible for the financial aspects of student-athlete scholarships and aid, acting as a liaison between the athletics department, the financial aid office, and student-athletes. This role ensures compliance with federal, state, and NCAA regulations. This position is governed by state and federal laws and institutional policy.

    Duties & Responsibilities:

    + Acts as a link between the athletic department, the financial aid office, and student-athletes to ensure smooth communication and cooperation.

    + Oversees and ensures that all financial aid for athletes, including athletic scholarships, complies with all relevant regulations, such as those from the NCAA, federal, and state governments.

    + Processes and awards financial aid and scholarship funds for student-athletes.

    + Provides guidance to student-athletes and their families on financial aid options, eligibility requirements, and application processes.

    + Maintains student-athlete financial aid records, updates information in relevant compliance systems, and tracks data for assessment.

    + Coordinate the annual review of Athletic Aid Policy and Procedure Manual and prepare financial aid reports for annual institutional and NCAA audits.

    + Aid scholarship team during peak periods and the absence of other staff.

    + Maintain professional knowledge of federal, state, institutional and NCAA regulations and reporting requirements.

    + This is not to be construed as an exhaustive list; other duties may be assigned. All responsibilities will be conducted within the parameters of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA), other applicable regulatory requirements, and professional standards

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

    Assist prospective students and their families. Current students, high school counselors, faculty and staff on campus.

     

    Able to work with other departments effectively.

     

    Knowledge of record keeping procedures.

     

    Ability to establish and maintain electronic filing and data entry.

     

    Ability to conduct research and compile data in report form.

     

    Ability to communicate with students and parents.

     

    Knowledge of general office procedures and office equipment.

     

    Experience with Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and other Microsoft Office products.

     

    Excellent communication skills.

     

    Familiarity with SCT Banner.

     

    Basic knowledge of student financial aid and scholarships.

     

    Ability to collect, compile, analyze and record data for spreadsheet use.

     

    Knowledge of basic Mathematics and statistics.

     

    Knowledge of planning, research, and analysis of techniques and procedures.

     

    Knowledge of department operations, policies, and procedures.

     

    Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations.

     

    Knowledge of basic accounting principles.

     

    Ability to plan and execute systems and organizational analysis and feasibility studies.

     

    Ability to conduct research and perform quantitative quality assurance reviews.

     

    Ability to research, prepare, and present comprehensive written and oral reports.

     

    Ability to organize and conduct meetings and workshops.

    General Days/Hours:

    Monday – Friday

     

    8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

     

    Additional hours as requested and/or needed

    Minimum Qualifications:

    The formal education equivalent of an earned Bachelor's degree.

     

    Other job-related education and/or experience may be substituted for all or part of these basic requirements upon approval of the qualifications review committee
