The Operator, Switchboard position exists to perform diversified tasks associated with providing company switchboard services, using a wide range of procedures; refers only specific, unusual problems to supervisor.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Routes a high volume of the domestic/international, conference, and ministry information calls that are channeled through the switchboard
+ Utilizes a thorough working knowledge of ministry policies and procedures when dealing with switchboard operations, such as releasability of information, following guidelines, and corporate restrictions
+ Answers all kinds of questionable/crisis calls
+ Routes or resolves all inquiries, using the proper tone, manner, and skill
+ Answers incoming calls; transfers caller to requested person, department or extension
+ Determines callers’ needs or purpose of call
+ Assists public in locating personnel
+ Answers all information number inquiries
+ Executes overhead paging announcements
Other Duties/Responsibilities:
+ Performs other duties as assigned

+ Occasional holiday and weekend work is required
JOB QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS
Character/Spiritual:

Personal Characteristics:
+ Articulate; patient; flexible
Knowledge/Experience:
+ High school diploma or equivalent
+ 3 - 12 months experience with telephone switchboard
+ Working knowledge of FOF mission, philosophy, values, and objectives
Skills, Abilities, and Special Talents/Gifts:
+ Requires proper telephone etiquette, tact, a pleasant voice, and the ability to communicate verbally
+ Ability to resolve crisis situation calls in the proper manner
+ Good grammar and diction
+ Ability to troubleshoot computer issues from home
+ Working knowledge of company software such as e-mail, Microsoft Word, Excel, Infocus, and FOF website
+ Ability to type 35 wpm
Pay Range: $15.00 to $17.00
