Monday-Friday Day Shift

+ Aseptic technique is utilized in IV admixture preparation using appropriate needles, sets, and equipment.
+ Dosage calculations are accurate and clearly displayed for pharmacist verification.
+ Labeling is complete with accurate expiration dating included.
+ Batch records are completed accurately with appropriate quantities approved.
+ Chemotherapy preparation is checked before admixture and strict adherence to policy and procedure is observed.
+ Cleaning and decontamination of Laminar flow hoods is documented.
+ All intravenous admixtures are checked by a Registered Pharmacist prior to dispensing.
+ Trains associates in chemotherapy satellite responsibilities with admixture and inventory control
+ Pyxis training is completed with proper knowledge in stocking machines, reviewing reports, and handling nursing concerns.
Position Summary:
As an IV Chemotherapy Pharmacy Technician you will work in a collaborative environment to deliver excellent patient care under the direction of a licensed clinical professional in a clinic or practice environment. A Pharmacy Technician usually spends the day on their feet compounding medications, calculating, packaging, and labeling prescriptions.
What you will do:
+ Preparing IV chemotherapy and other medication requests for patients
+ Maintain 797/800 compliance
+ Maintain Bienes Cancer Center Pharmacy department
+ Perform other job-related duties within job scope as requested
What you will need:
+ Must have National Pharmacy Technician Certification or in Lieu of this Certification a Licensed Pharmacist Intern is required.
+ Must be registered with the State of FL as a Pharmacy Technician
+ IV Chemotherapy admixture experience required
+ High school diploma or equivalent is required.
+ Minimum of two (2) years additional education and/or experience
