    About the role

     

    We are seeking an experienced and proactive Chemical Plant Operations Supervisor to oversee daily operations within our manufacturing facility. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing production teams, ensuring safety compliance, and maintaining high-quality standards. This role involves direct supervision, process support, and the implementation of continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment. The supervisor will also coordinate training, manage production schedules, and represent site management during off shifts, fostering a culture of safety and efficiency. This leadership role requires strong organizational skills, problem-solving abilities, and a commitment to operational excellence to support the company's growth and efficiency.

    Responsibilities

    + Supervise shift leads and team members in all ISC/production activities to meet daily operational goals.

    + Utilize PIP techniques to meet or exceed metrics in safety, quality, productivity, and delivery.

    + Conduct regular inspections of equipment and work areas, addressing any issues promptly and provide process support to avoid downtime

    + Direct, supervise, and monitor activities of leads and team members to maximize productivity, maintain quality standards and optimize efficiency.

    + Be the first responder for all day by hour ANDON occurrences.

    + Instill a 'safety first' mindset within the group and lead HSE initiatives.

    + Ensure procedures are in place and followed for production efficiency, quality, safety, and compliance with regulations.

    + Prepare and coordinate production schedules and ensure adequate staffing for shifts.

    + Evaluate production needs for daily assignment of duties and adjust as required.

    + Coordinate team member training and ensure compliance with regulatory training.

    + Recommend improvements to production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.

    + Encourage continuous improvement activities and seek opportunities for process improvement.

    + Analyze and resolve work problems or assist workers in solving work problems.

    + Train, mentor, and evaluate team members to foster a productive and compliant workforce

    + Supervise scheduling, selection, retention, feedback, disciplinary action, and performance management.

    + Coordinate the orientation and training of new team members.

    + Maintain time and production records and implement policies and procedures.

    Requirements

    + Associates degree.

    + 5+ years of manufacturing experience.

    + 3+ years supervisory/leadership experience.

    + Experience in chemical manufacturing.

    + Knowledge of lean, six sigma tools and problem-solving methodology.

    + Experience in SAP.

    + Experience in OSHA requirements.

    + Experience in Microsoft Office products.

    + Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

    + Ability to lead/drive change and influence/mentor others.
