Job Title: Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT)
Overview
We are looking for a skilled and detail-oriented Medical Laboratory Technician (MLT) to join our team. In this role, you will perform essential laboratory testing, ensure accurate reporting of results, and maintain quality standards. The ideal candidate will be proficient in instrument maintenance, troubleshooting, and specimen processing, while upholding a safe and organized work environment.
Key Responsibilities
+ Perform routine laboratory tests and accurately report results.
+ Conduct instrument maintenance and resolve technical issues.
+ Perform quality control procedures to ensure compliance.
+ Maintain adequate inventory of supplies for testing.
+ Label, process, and deliver specimens for analysis.
+ Collect blood specimens using age-appropriate techniques.
+ Assist with specimen receiving, accessioning, and transportation.
+ Keep work areas clean, safe, and aseptic.
Qualifications
+ Graduate of an accredited Medical Laboratory Technician program.
+ Active MLT/MT license (required prior to onboarding).
+ Minimum of 1 year of experience preferred.
Additional Skills
+ Strong knowledge of medical laboratory procedures and technology.
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Work Environment
+ Rural hospital laboratory serving the local community 24/7.
+ Independent role within a lean lab team.
+ Flexible shifts:
+ Monday–Friday: 3 PM–11 PM or 7 PM–7 AM
+ Occasional weekends required.
+ Facility: 70-bed, acute care, not-for-profit hospital in East Tennessee
+ Contract Details:
+ One-year assignment structured like a travel contract.
+ Competitive pay: 50% above average market rates.

This is a Contract position based out of Sweetwater, TN.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $40.00 - $50.00/hr.
