    Maintenance Technician - Printing Operations

    Schedule: Day / Swing

    *Overtime when needed / weekends

     

    Pay: $25 - $32

    Description

    The Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring the optimal performance, reliability, and safety of all digital printing equipment and related machinery. This role involves performing preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and repairs on high-speed digital presses, finishing equipment, and facility systems to minimize downtime and maintain production efficiency.

     

    Experience in digital printing using Xerox, Konica and Ricoh machines, preferred but not required. Training available.

    Equipment Maintenance & Repair:

    + Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on digital printing presses, cutters, laminators, and other production equipment.

    + Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and electronic issues promptly to reduce downtime.

    Troubleshooting:

    + Use diagnostic tools and technical manuals to identify root causes of equipment malfunctions.

    + Collaborate with OEM support teams when necessary for complex repairs.

    Calibration & Quality Assurance:

    + Ensure machines are calibrated for optimal print quality and color consistency.

    + Conduct routine inspections to maintain compliance with quality standards.

    Documentation & Reporting:

    + Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, parts usage, and equipment performance.

    + Report recurring issues and recommend improvements to reduce future failures.

    Safety & Compliance:

    + Follow all safety protocols and ensure equipment meets OSHA and company standards.

    + Participate in safety audits and corrective actions.

    Continuous Improvement:

    + Suggest process improvements to enhance equipment reliability and reduce costs.

    + Stay updated on new technologies and maintenance best practices.

    Qualifications:

    + **Education:** High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electronics, or related field preferred.

    + **Experience:**

    + 2+ years of experience in equipment maintenance, preferably in a printing or manufacturing environment.

    + Familiarity with digital printing systems (e.g., HP Indigo, Xerox iGen, Ricoh, or similar) is a plus.

    + **Skills:**

    + Strong mechanical and electrical troubleshooting skills.

    + Ability to read schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals.

    + Proficient in using hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment.

    + **Other Requirements:**

    + Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and work in a fast-paced production environment.

    + Strong attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of West Sacramento, CA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $32.00/hr.
