    Job Title: TRAVEL Welder

    Job Description

    The Welder and Fabricator will be responsible for reading complex blueprints, weld symbols, and work instructions. They will select raw materials, maneuver metal parts, and fabricate/layout metal to be welded. The role requires welding metal products to customer specifications using MIG and TIG processes, primarily on Steel and Stainless Steel. The welding processes are manual, not robotic. Parts may require grinding, cleaning, and inspection before moving forward in the process. Documentation of welds and processes is also required.

    Responsibilities

    + Read and interpret complex blueprints and weld symbols.

    + Select raw materials and fabricate metal parts for welding.

    + Perform MIG and TIG welding on Steel and Stainless Steel.

    + Grind, clean, and inspect metal parts post-welding.

    + Document welds and processes accurately.

    Essential Skills

    + Proficiency in MIG and TIG welding processes.

    + Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints and weld symbols.

    + Experience with Steel and Stainless Steel welding.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + AWS D17.1 Weld Certification or multiple years of experience in the process.

    + Experience in a job shop environment.

    + Experience in handling documentation and inspections.

    Work Environment

     

    The work environment is similar to a large job shop, primarily working in welding areas with Miller welding machines. Employees must work near moving mechanical parts and in environments with fumes, airborne particles, extreme temperatures, and noise. Safety precautions are necessary to mitigate risks like electrical shock, radiation, and exposure to toxic chemicals. The facility is closed on major holidays such as Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Christmas Day, and New Year's.

    This is a Permanent position based out of Newport News, VA.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $45.00/hr.
