    Job Title: Cell Operator** **Job Description

     

    This position is for a Cell Operator responsible for system upkeep and operations of automated adapters used to interface with a conveyor system structure. The role involves assisting with system readiness to achieve performance targets, operating equipment via Human/Machine Interface (HMI) terminals, and working within a structure when completely shut down to identify, retrieve, and correctly place missing or misplaced products. Physical activities such as bending, crawling, and lifting are required, as well as cleaning sensors and tracks to address issues.

    Responsibilities

    + Ensure safety commitments in compliance with OSHA and customer processes and procedures are met daily.

    + Perform pre-production checks on automated adapters to ensure equipment is in a 'ready to run' state.

    + Process and monitor the flow of the automated storage and retrieval system to achieve maximum throughput and cases per hour.

    + Prepare pallets for induction into the storage and retrieval system.

    + Assess cause of system stoppage and return to service using HMI and manual intervention.

    + Assist team members in systems troubleshooting.

    + Analyze recurring faults and determine best corrective action.

    + Communicate and escalate all issues impacting production immediately to operational leadership.

    + Contribute to overall system uptime through system preservation, robot recovery, suspect removal, and bot health actions.

    + Make recommendations for process and continuous improvement.

    + Perform periodic system inspections, including cleaning, lubrication, tolerance checking, and component validation.

    + Report all out-of-spec conditions and perform root cause corrective action.

    + Maintain continuous operation of system components.

    + Monitor and utilize common radio etiquette while obtaining instructions from leadership and operational leads.

    + Perform rover bot upkeep, including replacing wheels, cleaning, ESD brushes, sensors, etc.

    + Responsible for automated robotic vehicle recovery in the Matrix select system, including working in restrictive environments.

    + Assist Automation technicians with breakdown calls and continuous system availability.

    Essential Skills

    + 1+ years of manufacturing experience in a Machine Operator role or Entry Level Maintenance.

    + Technical skills including the ability to use touchscreens, computers, and mobile cell phones.

    + Problem-solving skills to identify and communicate problems with ideas for solving.

    + Consistent work history indicating good attendance.

    Additional Skills & Qualifications

    + Experience in machine operating, preventive maintenance, troubleshooting, and manufacturing.

    + Knowledge in automation, production, mechanical systems, robotics, preventive maintenance, and repair.

    + High school graduate or trade school is preferred.

    Work Environment

    The work takes place in a distribution center featuring an automated racking system and multiple robotic arm cells in Inbound and Outbound. The environment includes 300 robots and involves working with robotic arms that break down large pallets and stack individual products for shipping. The racking system can reach heights of up to 45 feet and includes restrictive areas of 24 inches. The work environment is protected from weather conditions but not temperature changes, requiring capability to work in temperatures ranging from 105° to 32° Fahrenheit.

    This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Melrose Park, IL.

    Pay and Benefits

    The pay range for this position is $22.00 - $22.00/hr.
