Salary: $20.75/Hour Minimum

Report Times: 6:00 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. (includes a 1/2 hour unpaid lunch)

Daily Hours: 6 Paid

Work Year: 40 Weeks

Minimum Requirements:

Completion of the eighth grade.

SPECIAL REQUIREMENT: Possession of a valid New York State driver’s license and endorsements appropriate to the vehicle(s) operated and materials moved. It is the jurisdiction’s responsibility for ensuring employees possess valid licenses/endorsements appropriate to the type of vehicle(s) being operated and materials moved.

Desired Qualifications:

Valid New York State drivers license in good standing;

Physical condition commensurate with the repetitive lifting demands of the position (50 lb min);

Specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision and depth perception;

Ability to understand and follow oral and written instructions;

Ability to maintain simple records; use good judgement;

Mechanical aptitude;

Self starter with the ability to work independently;

Good working knowledge of the district geography;

Ability to work in inclement weather conditions;

Ability to operate a hand truck, pallet jack and dolly and move material weighing up to approximately one-hundred (100) pounds;

Customer service oriented and able to function in a team environment;

Flexible;

Dependable and courteous.

Position Summary/Responsibilities:

Responsible for the use of a motor vehicle to deliver food supplies and materials to all district school cafeterias as well as other destinations on

a daily basis;

Responsible for receiving and storing deliveries direct from food manufacturers;

Responsible for accurate recordkeeping, including distribution log and current inventory;

Responsible for maintaining cleanliness of vehicle, stock rooms, loading dock and commissary walk-ins per New York State Sanitary Code

standards;

Responsible for the collection of cans, bottles, and plastic from school cafeterias on a weekly basis;

May be required to perform minor maintenance tasks in connection with Food Service vehicle;

Other duties and responsibilities as required.
