Job Title: Pump Watch** **Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Pump Watch person for a service and repair shop. This role involves monitoring pumps both in person and via monitors, making inspections, changing oil, swapping parts, and logging all activities. The position requires availability for on-call duties as needed. After four months in the Pump Watch role, you will transition to a shop helper, assisting with regular shop duties such as cleanup, driving parts, and aiding mechanics.
Responsibilities
+ Monitor pumps in person and on monitors for 12 hours a day, 7 days a week.
+ Conduct inspections, change oil, swap parts, and maintain detailed logs.
+ Remain on call for pump-related emergencies.
+ Transition to a shop helper role after four months, performing tasks such as cleanup, driving parts, and assisting mechanics.
Essential Skills
+ Mechanically inclined with industrial experience.
+ Reliable and able to work 7 days a week for 12-hour shifts over a four-month period.
+ Ability to perform pump inspections and diagnose issues.
+ Proficiency with hand tools, power tools, and forklifts.
+ Experience with engine assembly, diesel engines, troubleshooting, and reading blueprints.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ Previous mechanic experience.
+ Knowledge of oil changing and pump monitoring.
+ Extensive manufacturing experience.
+ Driving experience.

Work Environment
The work takes place in a small, non-climate-controlled shop with a larger yard containing spare parts and equipment. The environment is organized but not extremely clean. The team consists of three mechanics, four warehouse/drivers, inside sales, and an Operations Manager. Employees will rotate being on call one week per month, which involves taking a service truck to client sites for repairs. Steel-toe boots, jeans, and a work shirt are required. The shift is from 7:00 am to 7:00 pm, 12 hours a day, 7 days a week for the first four months, followed by a transition to a shop helper role with hours from 7:00 am to 4:00 pm, Monday to Friday, with typical Saturdays, averaging 50 hours per week. Night shift for Pump Watch is 7:00 pm to 7:00 am.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Pearland, TX.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $22.00/hr.
