MCA, your trusted advisor for wireless communications, data, and security, is seeking an experienced **Solutions Architect** in the **Durham, NC** area to support our fast-growing **Data** division.
We are seeking an **experienced Solutions Architect** to **develop and present world-class wireless solutions** in collaboration with our seasoned sales team. This role supports a rapidly growing **Data Division.** You will leverage the latest technologies to deliver **end-to-end wireless data communications** for managing mobile and fixed corporate assets, while designing innovative solutions for some of the nation’s most forward-thinking companies.
WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING:
The Solutions Architect is responsible for designing, validating, and presenting end-to-end network and connectivity solutions for enterprise and public safety customers. This role sits at the intersection of sales, engineering, and product, working closely with customers to understand their business requirements and turning them into scalable technical architectures using our telecom portfolio (wireless, wireline, IP networking, cloud, security, and managed services).
You will be the technical lead on strategic opportunities, own the solution design, and act as a trusted advisor to both internal stakeholders and customers.
WHAT YOU WILL BRING TO THE TEAM:
+ Partner with account executives to lead technical discovery sessions, gathering requirements for network, security, performance, and availability.
+ Translate business requirements into high-level and detailed solution architectures (e.g., wireless access, transport, core, security, cloud integration, and management).
+ Design solutions across technologies such as LTE/5G, fixed wireless access, fiber, IP/MPLS, SD-WAN, Wi-Fi, VoIP, and security services (firewalls, VPN, etc.).
+ Develop bill of materials (BOM), network diagrams, and architecture documentation to support proposals and SOWs.
+ Serve as the primary technical point of contact for assigned opportunities and accounts.
+ Provide design clarification and technical guidance during deployment, testing, and cutover phases.
+ Act as a subject-matter expert (SME) for telecom technologies and solutions within the company.
+ Provide training and enablement for sales, account management, and support teams on solution capabilities and architectures.
+ Stay current on telecom industry trends, standards, and competitor offerings (e.g., 5G evolution, private LTE/5G, SD-WAN, edge computing, IoT connectivity, network security).
+ Recommend new solution components, partners, and architectures to improve the portfolio and customer outcomes.
EXPERIENCE:
+ **Cellular Networks:** Proficiency in Wireless WAN technologies (LTE, HSPA+, CBRS, 5G, & Private wireless).
+ **Antenna Theory:** Understanding of ground planes, gain, radiation patterns, diversity, and MIMO.
+ **Strong knowledge of:**
1. IP networking (TCP/IP, routing, switching, QoS, VLANs, BGP/OSPF, MPLS).
2. Telecom access technologies (LTE/5G, fixed wireless, fiber, Ethernet, xDSL, microwave, etc.).
3. Security technologies (VPNs, firewalls, IPSec, SSL/TLS).
+ Proven experience designing and documenting complex network or telecom solutions for enterprise or carrier customers.
+ Demonstrated ability to communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and business stakeholders.
QUALIFICATIONS:
**Education:** Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
+ **Experience:**
+ 5+ years in wireless networking, IoT solutions, or related technical roles.
+ Proven experience supporting technical sales or acting as a Sales Engineer/Solutions Architect.
+ Experience with:
1. Private LTE/5G or CBRS deployments.
2. SD-WAN and cloud connectivity solutions.
+ IoT connectivity, device management, or industrial communications.
+ Managed network services or NOC/SOC environments.
+ **Certifications (Preferred):**
+ Networking certifications (e.g., CCNA, CCNP).
+ Wireless certifications (e.g., CWNP, 5G-related credentials).
+ **Skills:**
+ Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities.
1. Customer-Focused Mindset: Ability to align technical solutions with business outcomes and customer value.
2. Strong Communication: Excellent written and verbal communication skills; comfortable presenting to executives and technical teams.
3. Collaboration: Works effectively with cross-functional teams (sales, engineering, operations, product, finance).
4. Organization: Capable of managing multiple opportunities and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
5. Ownership & Accountability: Takes responsibility for solution quality and customer satisfaction.
