Receiving Inspector

Job Description

A valve manufacturing company seeks a dedicated Receiving Inspector. The role involves supporting daily receiving functions, assisting both the operations team and customer deliveries.

Must Haves

+ 1-2 years of experience in quality control.

+ Experience in reading blueprints, micrometers, and calipers.

+ High School diploma or GED.

Responsibilities

+ Place incoming materials into Arrived Status in the MRP system.

+ Confirm that part quantities match purchase order quantities.

+ Inspect parts according to engineering document standards and specifications.

+ Receive purchase orders into the MRP system once parts are verified as acceptable.

+ Complete First Article Inspections as required.

+ Complete Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs) for non-conforming material.

+ Prioritize work as notified to support customer and production needs.

+ Collaborate with the Quality Engineer and Quality Analyst as needed.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Proficiency in MS Office.

+ Working knowledge of MRP systems; experience with IFS is a plus.

+ Knowledge of the valve, casting, machining, and PCB industries is advantageous.

Work Environment

The work environment is air-conditioned, providing comfort during the 1st shift from 7am to 4pm, with 3-5 hours of overtime usually available. The position offers a structured work schedule in a quality-focused manufacturing setting.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Houston, TX.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $19.00 - $22.00/hr.
