Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to ensure our processes meet quality and reliability standards for finished products. This role involves creating and implementing quality plans and processes for new customers, products, and technologies. The successful candidate will establish quality assurance objectives aligned with production procedures to maximize product quality and minimize costs.
Responsibilities
+ Analyze data to assess whether current processes meet quality and reliability standards.
+ Assist in creating and implementing quality plans for new customers, products, and technologies.
+ Establish and maintain quality assurance objectives aligned with production procedures.
+ Support production, inspection, and testing teams to ensure consistent delivery of goods.
+ Organize and promote training activities related to product quality and reliability.
+ Investigate customer complaints, implement corrective and preventive actions, and ensure timely resolution.
+ Promote awareness and compliance with all customer requirements across the organization.
+ Compile and analyze data to generate reports, metrics, and KPIs for management and customers.
Essential Skills
+ Ability to interpret high-reliability (HI-REL) customer requirements and assess process implications.
+ Strong root cause analysis methodology and capability to implement permanent corrective and preventive actions (CAPA).
+ Technical understanding of EMS processes for effective collaboration on investigations and process improvements.
+ Proven ability to act as a change agent, influencing and driving quality improvements.
+ Authority to prevent non-conformities and recommend solutions through proper channels.
+ Expertise in monitoring and verifying CAPA implementation for internal and external non-conformances.
+ Comprehensive knowledge of IPC standards and guidelines.
+ Ability to review and analyze assembly process non-conformances under IPC 610, IPC 600, and J-STD-001.
+ Familiarity with customer quality clauses and compliance requirements.
+ Experience in aerospace quality standards and AS9102 First Article Inspection Reports (FAIR).
Additional Skills & Qualifications
+ 5–6 years in Electronic Contract Manufacturing of PCBAs for HI-REL industries (Space, Aerospace, Defense preferred).
+ Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent.
Work Environment
The role involves working closely with production, inspection, and testing teams. The environment requires a collaborative approach to ensure consistent delivery of goods that meet customer requirements. Technical expertise in EMS processes and familiarity with IPC standards is essential.
Job Type & Location
This is a Permanent position based out of Santa Ana, CA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $85000.00 - $120000.00/yr.
