Job Title: Quality Control ManagerJob Description

The Quality Control Manager plays a crucial role in maintaining the highest quality standards in construction projects. You will work closely with project managers to provide updates on quality control and address any issues that might affect project progress. This position requires coordinating with testing agencies, overseeing subcontractor submittals, and managing material orders and equipment. You will be responsible for conducting safety meetings and inspecting site practices to ensure safety and quality.

Responsibilities

+ Communicate regularly with the project manager to provide quality control updates and advise on issues that may affect progress.

+ Coordinate, provide oversight, and review outside testing agencies for proper techniques and contract compliance.

+ Oversee subcontractor submittals and maintain the submittal register.

+ Order and receive necessary materials and equipment.

+ Administer weekly safety meetings and identify relevant safety elements related to quality control.

+ Monitor daily quality and safety practices to minimize corrections and punch-list items.

+ Exercise the authority to stop work if unsafe practices are observed.

+ Provide direction to the project engineer and prioritize critical path items to maintain project schedule.

+ Monitor subcontractor and supplier performance regarding timeliness, efficiency, and quality.

+ Review deliveries for timeliness and accuracy, ensuring consistency with approved submittals.

+ Complete daily reports on inventory, work items, weather conditions, quality and safety issues, and site visitors.

+ Provide weekly updates on 'as-built' conditions and maintain safety logs.

+ Create and coordinate the completion of punch-list items prior to 'Substantial Completion' certification.

+ Represent the company during testing of alarm systems, mechanical systems, and equipment.

+ Ensure all close-out documents are complete and submitted in coordination with project management.

Essential Skills

+ 10+ years of proven experience in Quality Control Management.

+ Current USACE/NAVFAC Construction Quality Management for Contractors certification.

+ Demonstrated job knowledge and timely decision-making using sound judgment.

+ Problem identification, information analysis, and recommendation skills.

+ Ability to meet established goals while ensuring quality through accuracy and thoroughness.

+ Capacity to take independent actions and calculated risks.

+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite and project management software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or similar field preferred.

+ Experience with Federal construction projects required.

+ Flexible, well-organized, and detail-oriented with efficient time management skills.

+ Works well in group problem-solving situations.

+ Valid driver's license and ability to operate a personal vehicle.

Work Environment

The work environment involves regular outdoor work in extreme conditions such as cold, heat, and humidity. The role requires the ability to stand, climb, bend, and stoop daily. It demands the use of visual and auditory skills and involves working collaboratively with teams and independently.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Jacksonville, FL.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $45.00 - $70.00/hr.
