Safety Manager
Job Description
We are seeking a dedicated Safety Manager to join our team. This role serves in a dual capacity, where the primary objective is to operate in a consultative role by providing expert support, guidance, and motivation to operations management and employees at all levels. Additionally, the Safety Manager is expected to be a hands-on partner in delivering safety initiatives and programs to cultivate a safety culture supporting our mission of ensuring an incident and injury-free workplace.
Responsibilities
+ Promote and uphold our organization's Incident and Injury-Free (IIF) core values.
+ Provide operations management with effective safety coaching, counseling, and advice to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
+ Assist Talent Management in conducting specific safety training related to transportation operations.
+ Act as a safety motivator for management and employees to integrate safety as an active part of work culture.
+ Provide subject matter expertise to ensure the implementation of effective safety practices.
+ Review subcontractors' safety programs to ensure compliance with project safety requirements.
+ Conduct gap analyses on current safety policies and recommend improvements.
+ Conduct site visits to monitor the execution of the Safety Management System.
+ Assist in preparing for monthly Craft Voice In Safety (CVIS) meetings and drive continuous improvement.
+ Participate in and facilitate root cause analyses according to the Incident Investigation Policy.
+ Support project teams in developing safe execution plans during project kick-off meetings.
+ Communicate safety program expectations clearly to all project employees.
+ Ensure necessary training is identified and scheduled.
+ Verify the organization and filing of all safety documentation at jobsites.
+ Travel to multiple projects within the region to provide operational support.
+ Implement safety systems and processes for new project start-ups.
Essential Skills
+ CST or CHST Certification
+ Experience in electrical construction or general contractor safety
+ Completion of OSHA 500 training
+ A degree in Occupational Safety and Health or a related discipline
+ 3-5 years of direct experience in construction safety and occupational health
+ Professional certification such as CSP, ASP, CHST, OHST, or CUSP

+ Strong management, leadership, and interpersonal skills
+ Excellent verbal and written communication skills
+ People-oriented personality with the ability to promote safety programs
+ Knowledge of construction safety and OSHA requirements
+ Strong organizational and time management skills
+ Attention to detail and ability to recognize and communicate discrepancies
+ Ability to work independently and as part of a team
+ Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
Work Environment
This role requires travel throughout the DMV region to various project sites. The position offers a vehicle allowance and gas card. The work environment is dynamic and involves interacting with multiple teams and projects. Employees are expected to uphold a professional demeanor and adhere to safety protocols at all times.

This is a Contract position based out of Dulles, VA.
Pay and Benefits
The pay range for this position is $120000.00 - $120000.00/hr.
