Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company , supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures , including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades . Spirit Commercial ’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
+ Implements fabrication, assembly, or installation manufacturing plans by coordinating with suppliers, engineering, and manufacturing teams.
+ Knowledge to develop tooling, interchangeability, replacement, and functional test plans.
+ Using the established manufacturing process flow, defines sequences of events, develops text and graphics work instructions, manufacturing datasets, tooling requirements, and manufacturing bills of material.
+ Communicating with engineering teams to influence and clarify design concepts.
+ Coordinates change incorporation, optimizes processes, addresses producibility issues, production & postproduction problems. Has the ability to demonstrate configuration control of the hardware, within the manufacturing build plan.
+ Ability to apply process knowledge in one or more of the following areas; Composite non-metallic, Electrical/Electronics, Machining, Sheet metal, Systems and Structures
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ Minimum of 2-4 years of Manufacturing Engineering/planning experience.
+ Strong to excellent SAP knowledge
+ Strong to excellent general computing skills.
+ This individual needs to be a self-starter who can eventually take a project from start to finish and has a willingness to work with all disciplines to accomplish a goal.
+ High School Diploma or GED
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Computer skills: MS Office suite, SAP, Catia
+ Experience with manufacturing engineering
+ Aircraft knowledge and manufacturing experience
+ Ability to read and understand engineering drawings, PL’s and Specifications
+ Experience with Catia programs
+ Bachelors degree is highly preferred but not required.
Union:
This is a union-represented position.
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $59,950 - $91,950
