Overview
This role is at Spirit AeroSystems, Inc. a wholly owned subsidiary of The Boeing Company , supporting Spirit’s Commercial Business Units (“Spirit Commercial”). Spirit Commercial designs and builds commercial aerostructures , including for Boeing Commercial Airplanes, one of Boeing’s three business units and the premier manufacturer of commercial jetliners for decades . Spirit Commercial ’s core products include fuselages, pylons, nacelles and wing components, with a focus on innovative composite and aluminum manufacturing solutions.
Responsibilities
Key Accountabilities:
+ Provides expertise in production engineering disciplines.
+ Applies principles and practices typically associated with quality engineering, industrial engineering, and manufacturing engineering functions and coordinates with other support disciplines or core functions as required.
+ Develops quality and cost-effective methods, standards, and systems for production by applying production engineering principles.
+ Leads and participates in long-range technical research on proposed projects. Provides guidance to less experienced manufacturing support staff.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
+ 5-9 years in manufacturing, continuous improvement, and support —or a Bachelor's degree plus 6 years of direct experience in a similar role
+ High School Diploma or GED
+ High level of understanding of complex machining processes
+ Familiarity with the RCCA process and process improvements
+ Experience in Continuous Improvement methodologies
+ Strong listening skills and a proactive approach to learning
+ Ability to collaborate across functions
+ Comfortable with basic computer skills (Excel, PowerPoint, and navigation through 3-D engineering models)
Preferred Qualifications:
+ Bachelor’s Degree preferred not required with industry experience
+ SAP experience is a plus; SAP is utilized daily
+ Manufacturing/shop floor experience
+ Lean and Six Sigma experience
Union:
This is a union-represented position.
Pay is based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.
Summary Pay Range: $71,750 - $110,000
