In this job, you'll lead efforts to proactively engage in and monitor the regulatory landscape, interact with agencies like CalOSHA and/or through our representative regulatory contractors, and translate complex requirements into clear, actionable company policies, procedures and programs - such as fall protection and other workplace safety efforts.     Responsibilities

    + Develops company-wide policy, program and procedure documents to support the company's compliance with the required agencies

    + Leads response to regulatory compliance monitoring events, enforcement actions, compliance filings, data-reporting, and data requests

    + Develops and maintains compliance plans, procedures, and reports

    + Improves regulatory data management; ensuring all legal registers are updated, and that incident management tools and systems are functioning and properly integrated with business planning processes

    + Improves the identification, monitoring and interpretation of new and changing technical regulations, assessing impact and preparing operations for any changes required in response

    + Identifies and initiates continuous improvement in regulatory compliance and identifies opportunities to improve policies and standards

    + Conducts proactive compliance and operational risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance. Collaborates with various stakeholder to provide direction and implement sound business decisions. Reviews strategies and business communications in order to ensure compliance with applicable rules and regulations enacted by external regulatory authorities

    + Initiates, manages, and oversees periodic audits or assessments of the compliance program to verify compliance performance and engage in gap analysis and, if appropriate, recommend improvements

    + Reviews company procedures to ensure they align with the company's current codes and policies

    + A material job duty of all positions within the Company is ensuring the protection of all its physical, financial and cybersecurity assets, and properly accessing and managing private customer data, proprietary information, confidential medical records, and other types of highly sensitive information and data with the highest standards of conduct and integrity

    Minimum Qualifications

    + Ten or more years of experience with regulatory compliance/guidelines, compliance standards, risk assessment of noncompliance issues or cybersecurity.

    Preferred Qualifications

    + Master's degree preferred, such as MBA, Political Science, Environmental Science, Public Policy, Occupational Safety, Organizational Psychology or related field

    + Certifications in CSP, CIH and/or Project Management

    + Experience working with Cal OSHA and associated regulations to ensure compliance

    + Experience setting up a compliance register

    + Experience working for a utility company or highly regulated environment

    + Experience leading projects including with corporate-wide impact

    + Experience participating in compliance audits, risk assessments, and gap analyses, with a track record of implementing improvements.

    + Expertise communicating complex requirements to diverse audiences including leadership, stakeholders, and front line employees

    + Experience developing and maintaining company-wide compliance plans, procedures, and standards based on regulatory requirements (e.g., fall protection, enclosed space, etc.).

    Additional Information

    + This position's work mode is hybrid. The employee will report to an SCE facility for a set number of days with the option to work remotely on the remaining days.  Unless otherwise noted, employees are required to work and reside in the state of California.  Further details of this work mode will be discussed at the interview stage. The work mode can be changed based on business needs.

    + Serves in an emergency response role as part of the Company's Incident Management Team in supporting crisis response. This role requires periodic on-call reporting during the day, night, and weekends as emergencies arise.

    + Position will require up to 25% traveling and being out in the field throughout the SCE service territory.

    + Relocation does not apply to this position.
