The S.I. Newhouse School of Public Communications in Syracuse University is seeking an individual to lead COM 117 Multimedia Storytelling Labs on Fridays 11:15am-12:35pm and Fridays 9:30am-10:50am during Spring 2026. The two labs are taught in conjunction with a main teaching section of Multimedia Storytelling, which is led by a lead instructor. (3 credits).
Chosen candidate should be able to attend the main teaching section on Mondays/Wednesdays 8:00am-9:20am as well as the lab sections.
Course Description: This class is a foundation course required for all majors in the Newhouse School. Students work collaboratively in teams of three to produce a variety of short films that tell stories that persuade, document, and entertain predefined audiences. Basic story structure is taught as well as how to write and edit stories for video production. Students learn digital photography, videography, and editing for sound and picture.
