The COMET contract provides overall management and implementation of ground systems capabilities, flight hardware processing, and launch operations at NASA's Kennedy Space Center (KSC) in Florida. These tasks will support the International Space Station, Ground Systems Development and Operations, and the Space Launch System, Orion Multi-Purpose Crew Vehicle, and Launch Services programs.

The Ground Systems Support (GSS) organization is looking for a bright and motivated Planner to develop and maintain detailed construction project schedules in accordance with the Kennedy Integrated Control Schedule (KICS). The Construction Services (CS) Planner will integrate construction schedules, monitor project progress, identify conflicts and variances, manage resource forecast plans, implement project controls and generate reports for critical path tracking.
+ Ensure compliance with company scheduling standards and customer requirements. Support project managers and construction managers.
+ Build and maintain the CS schedule to include work activities across all sites and facilities on KSC where the construction work is to be performed.
+ Primavera Professional is the primary planning and scheduling software that is used.
+ Excellent communication skills are needed to manage schedule in a fast-paced, deadline driven environment.
+ Skills and knowledge in production control, construction planning, parts and material kitting, logistics inventory processes, technical task management, resource estimating, and component calibration and cleaning processes will be used daily.
+ High school diploma or equivalent; 10 years related experience.
+ Possess moderate knowledge of Microsoft Office Programs, such as Outlook, Work, Excel, PowerPoint and TEAMS. Possesses skilled knowledge in resource loading/leveling, logic linking activities by use of predecessor and successor, identifying dependencies, when building plans in Primavera or other schedule software.
+ Possesses skilled knowledge of the work document life cycle to include status management. Familiar with the concept of preventative maintenance and asset management.
+ Exhibit concise communication skills daily, both orally and written. Practiced at leading planning/scheduling meetings is preferable.
+ Skilled in customer service, required daily for customer interaction to discuss planned/scheduled work area requirements. Practiced at resolving scheduled conflicts and schedule analysis.
+ Detail oriented and skilled knowledge with Primavera Professional (scheduling software) and Maximo (computerized maintenance/work management system software).
+ Must follow strict work area rules and safety protocols.
+ Must be self-motivated, team player comfortable working in a dynamic environment.
+ Must be able to coordinate work between multiple disciplines to ensure work is coordinated and planned. Review work instructions to determine planning and scheduling requirements. Collaborate with engineering,
+ construction managers, project managers, flow management, other planners and schedulers on work requirements. Provide verbal and written communication timely.
+ Actively participate in planning and scheduling meetings to understand work priorities, resolve planning issues for Construction Services.
+ Must comply with all “drug free workplace” requirements as mandated by directives issued by the appropriate federal contracting officer and the company, which requires drug testing for use of illegal drugs by employees in sensitive positions.
+ Must maintain a positive work atmosphere by behaving and communicating in a manner that fosters good relations with customers, clients, co-workers, employees and management.
Physical Requirements
+ Will be required to climb stairs to access equipment to perform work assignment assessments, engineering
+ evaluations, and job planning.
+ Will be required to wear hearing protection, eye protection, hard hat and other associated personal protective equipment.
+ Position may involve extended periods of sitting or standing.
+ Physical requirements are sitting, walking, standing, extensive use of stairs, and access to remote structures.
+ Position is located on a fabrication facility and industrial environment; must be able to quickly evacuate buildings in theevent of an emergency.
Work Environment
+ Work Environment requires to work inside and outside throughout the work and shop areas.
+ Position may require daily individual to travel to different areas on site.
+ Walking on uneven terrain including paved areas, gravel/rocks, and dirt/sand is required to access various locations oncenter.
+ Climbing ladders, stairs and potential work at heights may be necessary.
+ All work must be completed in a safe manner in accordance with NASA and Company safety standards.
