    Seeking a qualified candidate to fill a part-time Laboratory Analyst position in the Chemical and Environmental Laboratory at the Longview, TX plant site.

    Responsibilities

    • Work schedules may vary and will be a minimum of 20 hours per week. • This position may have potential opportunities to move into regular full-time positions as a Laboratory Analyst or Technician for qualified candidates• Analysts work under the direction of a Team Manager• The analyst is responsible for performing testing on routine and non-routine samples using chemical analysis techniques including:

    + + Gas chromatography

    + Titrations and other wet chemical analyses

    + Ultraviolet and infrared spectroscopy

    + Viscosity measurements, Softening Point and other polymer analyses

    + Total halogen, sulfur and nitrogen testing

    + Flashpoint testing

    • Analysts are also responsible for monitoring the quality of test results using statistical process control techniques, investigating failing results, calibrating and maintaining test equipment• Work is conducted in an environment regulated by ISO and cGMP standards

    Qualifications

    + A High School Diploma or GED is required.

    + An Associate's degree in Chemistry, a Bachelor's in Physical Science, or at least two years of directly related experience is preferred.

    + Candidates pursuing an associate or bachelor's degree in Physical Science are also encouraged to apply.

    + Candidates must be at least 18 years old.

    + Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, and Word is essential.
