Overview
THE ROLE:
The Legal Projects Specialist (Compliance) is a multi-purpose role reporting to the Vice President, Regulatory Counsel in the Corporate division of the Legal Department. This new position is designed to support the Company’s global operation on a variety of legal and regulatory projects, as well as ongoing operations that relate to, among other things, privacy, corporate governance, ethics and compliance, consumer protection, litigation, regulatory investigations and direct sales. This position will require working with numerous team leads in the Legal and Ethics & Compliance Departments.
HOW YOU WOULD CONTRIBUTE:
• Provide assistance with special projects and initiatives with cross-functional Legal, Privacy (including Information and AI Governance), Enterprise Risk Management, and Ethics & Compliance teams
• Supporting Legal Ops, managing and improving efficiency through strategic use of processes and technology
• Serving in a paralegal function, including with respect to litigation and records retention obligations
• Providing support to corporate governance function as needed, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements
• Assisting AI Governance team by supporting policy development, risk assessments, and compliance monitoring
• Conducting due diligence as needed on third-parties, including in assessing litigation, sanctions, ABAC, and AML risk
• Consult on legal issues for matters concerning distributors at the direction of counsel
WHAT’S SPECIAL ABOUT THE TEAM:
This dynamic role is part of the Corporate group’s Legal team based in Los Angeles. The Corporate team works in a highly collaborative environment with critical compliance functions in the Company’s Member Business Practices and Compliance, Ethics & Compliance, Privacy, and Global Digital Technology Services departments. The Corporate team also partners closely with the Company’s North American Sales team to advise on compliance matters regarding Distributor digital tools and events/trainings.

Qualifications
SKILLS AND BACKGROUND REQUIRED TO BE SUCCESSFUL:
• 5+ years prior experience in compliance or legal field at global companies or at a global or other well-regarded law firm
• Effective team player
• Proficient understanding of direct selling operations and marketing strategy
• Experience working with complex data/structured data
• Experience managing large-scale projects
• Experience working with expert witnesses, including economists and fraud examiners
• Experience with digital tools development
• Spanish language skills a plus
Education
• Bachelor’s Degree
• Coursework or certificates in Paralegal work preferred
