    About the Role & Program

     

    The Industrial Light and Magic Visual Effects Global Production department is responsible for strategic oversight of all visual effects at the studio, including work on Star Wars and other IP in feature films, Television, theme park experiences, commercial tie-ins, etc. This department works with Executives and Producers to budget, plan, and staff for projects and then oversees production handled by the individual teams assigned at ILM.

     

    As our intern, you will provide **administrative and back up support to the VFX production team** , while gaining an opportunity to learn about the production environment and process at ILM.

     

    The approximate dates of this in-person internship are June 1st-August 28th, 2026 in San Francisco, CA.

     

    What You Will Do

     

    The VFX Intern will primarily take direction from the Production Manager and will handle a variety of administrative, research, special projects and various tasks related to VFX Production on any of the projects under the VFX Umbrella described above. You may have dedicated time on a particular project or may help as needed across the breadth of projects in production, including:

     

    + Managing show life-cycle reports

    + Acting as a Production Assistant

    + Coordinating details and schedules for Departmental meetings

    + Hosting guests and executives during their time onsite

     

    Required Qualifications and Skills

    Please apply if you have/are :

    + Technical competence on both PC and Mac platforms, with strong proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel and Google Mail

    + A general understanding of the film and VFX process, with a desire to work in the industry

    + Excellent verbal and written communication skills

    + Strong interpersonal skills and experience interacting effectively with diverse personalities

    + Strong time management skills with the ability to multitasks and shift priorities quickly in response to changing circumstances.

    + Excellent organizational and follow through skills.

    + Proven ability to work autonomously and in team settings with a positive, proactive attitude.

    Education

    Currently enrolled as a Junior or Senior, pursuing a Bachelor's degree in Film, Art, Theater or related

     

    Eligibility Requirements & Program Information

    Candidates for this opportunity MUST meet all of the below requirements:

    + Be enrolled in an accredited college/university pursuing a degree taking at least one class at time of application OR currently participating in a Disney College Program or Disney Internship. Current Disney Interns, College, International, or Culinary Program Participants: You may only work for ONE consecutive year (12 months) in any combination of an internship and/or program.

    + Be at least 18 years of age

    + Possess unrestricted work authorization

    Additional Information

    + Must be able to have a consistent, reliable full-time work schedule throughout the internship

    + The dates of this internship are June 1st- August 28th, 2026

    + Must be Fully available between to work during standard business hours, as well as flexibility to work some evening/weekend events as needed

    + Must provide own housing and reliable transportation during the internship in the **San Francisco, CA** area

     

    The pay rate for this role in California is $22.50 per hour. Select benefits may be provided as

    part of the compensation package, such as medical, financial, and/or other benefits,
