    Join our team! Monroe Ambulanceis seeking a full time over night Lieutenant (Paramedic preferred) to join our growing team of frontline staff.

    + The compensation range for this position is $30.00 - $33.00 hourly, representing our good faith and reasonable estimate of the potential compensation at the time of posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on various factors, including the candidate's qualifications, experience, and skill set.

    + Overnight schedule provides a $3.00 shift differential on top of the pay rate listed above.

    + Preferred New York State Paramedic certification

    Position Overview

    Lieutenants ensure that high quality patient care, safety protocols, positive organizational culture, and documentation standards are upheld by the team of care providers on the shift they oversee. Lieutenants report a daily update to the on-duty Captain giving an overview of the shift in these areas and identifying improvement opportunities when recognized. The Lieutenants behave in a manner that represents the core values of the organization and promotes a positive culture for the crews and co-workers. Outlined below are key categories with responsibilities Lieutenants are accountable for in fulfilling the company’s purpose:

     

    Patient Care

     

    + Remains available to respond to critical calls to assist crews with patient care as needed, providing coaching to front line staff as needed

    + Ensures direct patient care providers are adhering to NYS and regional protocols/care bundles based on nature of illness and injury (injuries)

    + Coordinates restock of supplies and replacement of equipment when necessary

    + Monitors for, coordinates, and respond to incidents when additional resources are appropriate

     

    Safety

     

    + Conducts themselves with focus on safety for self, patient, teammates and the public

    + Keeps current with drive-cam events, responding in real-time

    + Conducts in-field safety audits to ensure providers are adhering to Monroe’s safety protocols, providing real-time feedback/education to providers

    + Investigates any accidents/injuries/incidents that are reported during the shift, submitted to the captain upon completion

     

    Team

     

    + Represents the company, internally and externally, in a professional manner at all times

    + Is prompt and ready for service at shift of start, in proper uniform, well groomed, clear-headed - setting the example for other team-members

    + Remains visible on the road, available to back up crews on critical incidents, be available to cover crew lunches or end of shift times

    + Rounds with patient care crews on daily basis:

    + Ensure they feel valued

    + Communicate company updates

    + In-service new policies

    + Monitor mental health

    + Ensure adherence to uniform standards

    + Solicit feedback (equipment, suggestions, complaints, dissatisfiers)

    + Checks in with the communication center at the start of shift to communicate the plan for the day; ensures constant communication throughout their shift

    + Ensures compliance with the SSMP or directs the communications center to deviate as needed and when appropriate

    + Proactively manages the experience of all crews on their shift for lunches and can return with enough time to complete EOS duties

    + Ensures crews end-of-shift duties are completed

    + Embody Monroe Ambulance’s Code of Conduct to encourage adoption by providers

    + Collaborates with fellow on-duty lieutenants to assign tasks for the shift, ensuring no duplication of efforts

    + Promote a culture of teamwork by demonstrating flexibility and readiness to undertake additional tasks as required

     

    Documentation

     

    + Keeps the schedule updated throughout the day with changes due staffing changes

    + Keeps the vehicle lineup and the vehicle status board updated

    + Ensures 100% check-sheet compliance by on duty crews

    + Ensures that trucks are assigned to every unit on the schedule and makes updates as needed

    + Reviews list of incomplete charts at start of shift and reminds on-duty employees to complete them by the end of their shift

    + Ensures completion of all requested incident reports, vehicle problem reports, and CPS reports are completely by employees during the shift

    + Completes and submits in-field safety audit forms for each employee audited by the end of their shift

    + Completes and submits employee interaction forms for each employee audited by the end of their shift

    + Completes and submit all investigation reports for all incidents during their shift

    + NIMS 100, 200, 700, 800 (300 within one year of appointment)
