A Brief Overview
The Mobility Technician performs delegated activities that include but are not limited to patient mobility, infection control processes, assisting patients in practicing exercises or functional activities, transporting patients to and from treatment areas, inspecting and maintaining equipment, stocking and supplying procurement, and a variety of basic clerical functions.
What you will do
+ Assists patients with mobilization as needs for optimal recovery during hospitalization. Completes all patient handling tasks assigned daily to include assisting with repositioning, transferring, toileting, and ambulating patients with the use of assistive devices or patient handling equipment as indicated
+ Tracks and completes mobility tasks with emphasis on out-of-bed and Ambulation
+ Assists patients with basic range of motion exercises
+ Ensures patient handling equipment is safe and working correctly prior to patient use. Ensures correct sizing of slings and equipment
+ Maintains an awareness of inventory of all patient handling equipment and supplies
Education Qualifications
+ High School Diploma or GED Required
Experience Qualifications
+ One (1) year of patient care work experience in a health care facility Preferred
Skills and Abilities
+ Ability to effectively communicate with patients, physicians, family members and co-workers in a manner consistent with a customer service focus and application of positive language principles
+ Demonstrates independence and exercises judgment in interactions with physicians, interprofessional care team, patients and their families
+ Displays strong time management skills
+ Adapts to multiple ongoing priorities with minimal supervision including but not limited to organizing workflows and actively participating in problem-solving
+ Demonstrates ability to access information both in the department and within the hospital system to support the department and interprofessional health care team as appropriate
+ Possesses competent computer knowledge. Operates multiple computer systems including electronic health records and Microsoft Office (Word, PowerPoint, & Excel) to maintain patient information
Licenses and Certifications
+ Basic Life Support Certified - American Heart Association Required
