    $18/hr. and a Free YMCA Membership

     

    Monday through Friday; 7:15am-11:30am

     

    Under the direction of the Childcare Center Director, the Shuttle Driver is responsible for the safe transportation of all staff, members, volunteers, and children. In addition, the Shuttle Driver is responsible for picking up the food for childcare centers from food service provider and delivering to the designated childcare centers. The position is responsible for demonstrating YMCA leadership competencies to ensure the mission, purpose, image and core values of the YMCA of Greater Rochester are conveyed.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    • Transport staff members, volunteers, and children, to and from Schottland branch or any other required destination.

    • Pick up and deliver food to designated childcare centers.

    • Follow precise route and timetable as assigned.

    • Follow all written procedures, rules/regulations as determined by the YMCA of Greater Rochester.

    • Maintain transportation equipment in safe operating condition and report malfunctioning equipment immediately to the Childcare Center Director.

    • Report any issues directly to the Childcare Center Director.

    • Maintain all required certifications and/or licenses.

    • Attend all required meetings and trainings.

    • All other duties assigned.

    Requirements

    • Must be at least 21 years of age.

    • Must possess a clear New York State license and driving record.

    • Must have experience driving larger vehicles.

    • Must possess organizational skills and high attention to detail.

    • Must be able to work independently, as well as collaboratively with fellow staff members.

    • Must have good communication skills and ability to interact with all people.

    • CPR/AED and First Aid certification is required or the ability to obtain within 60 days of hire date.

    ENVIRONMENTAL CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    • Ability to visibly observe passengers.

    • Ability to hear distress signals even when distracted by noise and activity.

    • Ability to work in a variety of environments, specifically those subject to extreme heat and humidity or cold.

    • Ability to sit or stand for an extended period of time.

    • Ability to lift up to 40lbs.

    Salary Description

    $18 per hour
