    Work Schedule: 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM

    Summary :

    The Northern Light Health Clinical Pharmacy Specialist serves as a clinical expert, leader, and role-model in their specialty area. They will assure high quality, and efficiency healthcare is provided to all patients through direct patient care, quality improvement and medication safety work, and the development of other pharmacy staff. A clinical specialist is a highly motivated and self-directed clinical team member who bring fresh perspective to advancing quality care. The clinical specialist must also be able to fulfill the duties and work responsibilities of the Clinical Generalist Pharmacist.

    Responsibilities :

    + Clinical care (order processing, rounding, patient education, transitions of care coordination, protocol execution, consults, on-call, staffing coverage, etc).

    + Quality Improvement project and safety work.

    + Committee work (policy creation, guideline development, and maintenance of standard operating procedures, formulary management proposals).

    + Pharmacy Residency management and education.

    + Staff Development (Presentations, direct mentoring, educational activities).

    + Student education and development.

    + Other Duties (multi-disciplinary in services, operational project work, research, liaison with external departments, and others as assigned).

    Other Information :

    + Pharmacy Board Certification in appropriate specialty obtained within two years of hire into the specialist role.

    + Presentation software with the ability to create presentations with the ability to incorporate animation, audio, video, time delays, as well as designing themes and variants with animations and effects.

    + Word process application with the ability to create and edit documents, format, use tables, apply footnoting, create table of contents and mail merge techniques.

    + Provides Patient-Centered Care: Demonstrates understanding of patient care quality and service as organizational priority. Proactively supports change to improve patient experience and results. Exhibits the ability and willingness to find out what the patient wants and needs and to act accordingly, taking the organizational and outside resources into account.     Credentials

     

    + Required Registered Pharmacist

    Education

    + Required Doctoral Degree In lieu of education, two years of experience is required per year of required education, exclusive of the minimum experience identified above. If no PGY-1 Residency, then four years of clinical experience.

    Working Conditions

     

    + Lifting, moving and loading less than 20 pounds.
