Responsibilities You will work under the general administrative direction of the SWFLANT Security Director and make assignments of a very broad and general nature covering long-range program plans, objectives and policies. You will plan, direct, and coordinate the overall goals and objectives of assigned programs and projects; develop and direct long-range planning for the functional areas to meet mission requirements; and resolve unusual or precedent-setting problems. You will liaise with heads of major commands, security officers, and decision makers of federal response agencies to clarify and disseminate information; coordinate and discuss matters of policy; and provide technical assistance. You will define quality standards, internal instructions, and establish operating guidelines for the Security Department. You will approve or recommend personnel or position actions; assign work and work schedules; develop work performance standards; evaluate employee/subordinate supervisors' performance; identify training needs and assure that training is given. You will formulate short and long-range budgetary requirements based on current and projected mission, personnel and individual/ physical security equipment requirements. Requirements Conditions of Employment Qualifications Your resume must also demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience at or equivalent to the NH-03 (GS-13 equivalent) grade level or pay band in the Federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following: performing Nuclear Weapon Security operations management; performing security policy planning and enforcement; providing leadership to both military and civilian personnel; leading/planning/executing base-wide exercises and coordinating efforts between SUBASE commands, law enforcement, and agency partners. Education Additional Information This position is covered by the Department of Defense Priority Placement Program. Several vacancies may be filled.
