Job Description Summary

As a Turbine Airfoils Engineer in-the shop, you will be at the intersection of design and manufacturing! In this role, you will lead producibility projects, improve communication across teams, deploy structured problem solving on-site, drive resolution of delivery problems, and more. This role requires cross functional collaboration across Manufacturing, Quality, Mechanical Design, Thermal Design and others. This role requires clear and concise communication skills, strong influential leadership, a self-starter mentality, as well as the ability to work with all levels of the organization.

Must be able to work on-site in Piedmont, SC.

Job Description

Roles and Responsibilities

+ Execute the design, analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product / program requirements. This work would include mechanical and/or electrical engineering for all products

+ Developing specialized knowledge in their discipline. Serves as best practice/quality resource. Has awareness of latest technical developments in own area. Contributes towards strategy and policy development, and ensure delivery within area of responsibility.

+ Has in-depth knowledge of best practices and how own area integrates with others; has working knowledge of competition and the factors that differentiate them in the market

+ Uses judgment to make decisions or solve moderately complex tasks or problems in areas of operational/product management, manufacturing, technology or engineering. Takes new perspective on existing solutions. Uses technical experience and expertise for data analysis to support recommendations. Uses multiple internal and limited external sources outside of own function to arrive at decisions.

+ Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience. May lead small projects with moderate risks and resource requirements. Explains difficult or sensitive information; works to build consensus. Developing persuasion skills required to influence others on topics within field.

Required Qualifications

+ Bachelor's degree in engineering from an accredited university or college

+ Minimum of 5 years of experience in design engineering

Desired Characteristics

+ Turbine Airfoils design experience

+ Strong background in manufacturing

+ Material Review Board (MRB) Certification

+ Certification in ASME Y14 or significant experience with GD&T

+ Experience presenting technical topics to internal and external stakeholders

+ Demonstrate leadership and the ability to influence others

+ Demonstrate ability to analyze and resolve problems.

+ Demonstrate ability to lead programs / projects.

+ Ability to document, plan, market, and execute programs.
