Job description
Job Summary:
We are seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Accounting & Finance Manager to oversee the full scope of accounting functions, financial reporting, and project-based finance management. This role is critical in ensuring accuracy across the balance sheet, profit and loss (P&L) activities, bank reconciliations, and overall reporting. The ideal candidate will bring strong project management, M&A support, and technical accounting skills, with the leadership and communication capabilities to guide cross-functional collaboration across business units and executive teams.
Essential Job Functions:
Core Accounting & Reporting
• Oversee and manage all accounting operations: general ledger, month-end close, journal entries, and reconciliation processes
• Ensure accurate and timely preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements
• Perform balance sheet and trial balance reconciliations, and lead resolution of discrepancies
• Drive end-to-end profit & loss (P&L) ownership, working closely with business partners on variance analysis and forecasting alignment
• Lead bank account reconciliation processes
Project & Technical Accounting
• Manage project accounting across multiple workstreams or entities
• Act as accounting lead for M&A transactions including due diligence, carve-out support, accounting treatment reviews, and integration planning
• Own accounting mapping and integrity during M&A activities, ensuring alignment with GAAP/IFRS standards
• Collaborate with legal, finance, and integration teams to support post-merger consolidation
• Supervise reporting consolidation across legal and operational entities
Leadership & Coordination
• Provide financial leadership and support to internal stakeholders, including FP&A, Operations, and Executive team
• Drive cross-functional communication and process improvements across accounting and finance touchpoints
• Coordinate across global stakeholders with clarity, accountability, and ownership under tight deadlines

Travel Requirements
• Potential travel between Irvine, California, Mexicali, and other locations up to 15%
Physical Demands
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office and laboratory. Constantly operates a computer and other office equipment such as a copier/printer. Must be able to exchange accurate information and assess details at close range. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds across the office as needed.
Work Environment
The work environment is split between office and laboratory work, with most duties performed in the office. Office noise level is typically quiet, while laboratory environments may occasionally require hearing protection.
Business Sector Experience
• Experience within the aerospace industry is a plus but not required.
Candidate skills & requirements
Required Competencies:
• CPA required (active or inactive accepted)
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (Master's preferred)
• Minimum 5–7 years experience in progressive accounting/finance roles
• Strong knowledge of GAAP and/or IFRS and accounting treatment for M&A or carve-outs
• Experience with ERP systems; SAP preferred
• Proven project management experience across accounting or finance projects
• Strong Excel and financial reporting tool skills
• Excellent written and verbal communication, stakeholder management, and leadership presence
