Facilities Supervisor

Operations Management
+ Direct daily operation of central cooling and heating plant systems to maintain certain laboratory environmental requirements of 23°C ± 2°C and 50% RH ± 5% RH.
+ Monitor and control HVAC systems through building automation platforms (Siemens, Allen Bradley; American AutoMatrix a plus) to ensure efficiency and reliability.
+ Ensure system performance aligns with corporate, regulatory, and safety requirements.
Team Leadership
+ Lead a 6-day-per-week HVAC operation spanning three shifts, including scheduling, coverage, and shift handoffs.
+ Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with team members to provide coaching, guidance, and performance feedback.
+ Foster a culture of accountability, safety, and continuous improvement within the team.
Maintenance Program Oversight
+ Develop, schedule, and verify completion of preventive and predictive maintenance tasks, ensuring adherence to local and national codes.
+ Manage work order assignments, tracking, and closure through the CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System).
+ Coordinate repairs, upgrades, and project activities with internal stakeholders and external contractors.
Reporting and Communication
+ Provide weekly updates to the Senior Facilities Manager on system status, maintenance activities, and project progress.
+ Maintain accurate records, logs, and documentation to support operational decisions and compliance audits.
+ Collaborate cross-functionally with Facilities, Laboratory, and Operations teams to ensure environmental stability during concurrent projects.

Required:
+ Minimum 7 years of progressive HVAC experience, with 3+ years in a supervisory or lead role.
+ Proven expertise in mechanical plant operations, including chilled water, hot water, and steam systems.
+ Strong working knowledge of laboratory HVAC requirements and best practices.
+ Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
+ Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills.
Preferred:
+ Experience with Siemens and Allen Bradley building automation systems.
+ Familiarity with American AutoMatrix controls.
+ Technical certifications such as HVAC/R, Universal EPA, or equivalent.

+ Timely closure of assigned work orders (average ≤ 5 business days).
+ Positive team engagement scores in annual employee survey.
+ This is an Onsite position in our Northbrook location.
What we offer:
+ Total Rewards: We understand compensation is an important factor as you consider the next step in your career. The estimated salary range for this position is $70,000 and $85,000 and is based on multiple factors, including job-related knowledge/skills, experience, geographical location, as well as other factors. This position is eligible for annual bonus compensation with a target payout of 10% of the base salary. This position also provides health benefits such as medical, dental and vision; wellness benefits such as mental and financial health; and retirement savings (401K) commensurate with the standard rewards offered in each individual location or country. We also provide full-time employees with paid time off including vacation (15 days), holiday including floating holidays (12 days) and sick time off (72 hours).
