Overview
The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for ensuring equipment reliability by repairing and maintaining a wide range of processing equipment across the plant.
Job Responsibilities
+ Ensure safety and food-safety by following all company, OSHA, and government rules and procedures including; Lock-out / Tag-out procedures, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP's), personal safety, and food safety/SQF Program standards;
+ Effectively support the Preventative Maintenance (PM) program with a goal of continually reducing unscheduled downtime;
+ Troubleshoot, diagnose, and develop sustainable solutions for issues with equipment to include; PLC controlled equipment, plant electrical, hydraulic/pneumatic, and mechanical systems including motors, instrumentation, distribution, and feed control systems;
+ Complete all assigned work orders within the time allotted;
+ Maintain complete records of work performed using software, work orders and detailed logs;
+ Assist with equipment change overs and line startups, troubleshooting issues as needed;
+ Identify required parts and maintain current inventories, and parts reorder lists;
+ Act with a Continuous Improvement mindset seeking areas of opportunity for improvement and participating in cross-functional CI focused projects;
+ Repair sinks, hoses, water lines, toilets, and plumbing equipment;
+ Maintain wheels on racks, tubs, transits and ensure they are greased and in good working order;
+ Complete all building repairs; maintain walls, ceilings, and floors in good repair;
+ Contact refrigeration contractor when needed for maintenance or repair of refrigeration and/or HVAC system is needed;
+ Assist with installation of new equipment;
+ Performs other required tasks as assigned.
Job Requirements
+ Associates or Bachelor’ degree in related field (technical or vocational education) highly preferred but not required;
+ Minimum of two (2) years maintenance experience or 5 years related trade experience required;
+ Working knowledge of electrical, motor controls, main distribution, process control, wiring and components.
+ Maintenance Technician certification highly desired;
+ Six months or more of experience in the food processing/manufacturing preferred;
+ Proficient in use of basic machine tools and hand tools;
+ Proficient in use of basic electrical trouble-shooting equipment;
+ Ability to read specifications and pay attention to detail;
+ Ability to communicate effectively;
+ Detail oriented and self-motivated.
